Our Journey

  • Since its inception in 2007, PSK, Hosur has been dedicated to the art of Bharathanatyam, fostering a deep connection between life and dance. With a unique 8-level professional course, we focus on cultivating not only dance skills but also life skills and inner consciousness.
  • Amidst challenges, like the transition to online classes during the pandemic, our commitment has remained unwavering. The dedicated efforts of our tutors, both offline and online, have been instrumental in shaping well-rounded dancers.
  • Our global reach has expanded through online classes, attracting students from across the world. The Nattuvangam Course and our YouTube Channel (PadmaSri Kalamandir – Hosur) have gained widespread recognition, with over 6,000+ subscribers.
  • PSK proudly celebrates its 17th anniversary in 2024, with 41 Salangai Pooja events, 11 Arangetram batches, 17 Annual Navaratri festivals and numerous outstation performances.
  • Our recent achievement of being recognized in both the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records stands as a testament to our unwavering vision: Progress, Service & Knowledge (PSK). Our Vision

Our Mission

To preserve and promote Bharatanatyam by delivering comprehensive education rooted in Natya Shastra, cultivating artistic excellence and instilling traditional values. Through dedicated teaching and a supportive cultural environment, we aim to nurture budding artists into accomplished dancers who inspire peace, happiness and cultural pride.

The Instructors

Guru Shri S. Krishnan

Guru Shri. S. Krishnan, despite being an Engineer by qualification, has dedicated his life to teaching Bharathanatyam and allied dance forms with passion and dedication. Starting his journey at the age of 9 in 1996 under Guru Smt. Renuka Balasubramaniam, he mastered his Salangai Pooja in 2001. Further refining his skills with Guru Shri. Prakash Krishna, he achieved his Arangetram in 2005. Over the years, he continued his journey, learning from esteemed Gurus such as Late Shri. Ratheesh Krishna and enhancing his knowledge in Nattuvangam and Abhinaya during his MFA at Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts. Guru Krishnan has become a prominent figure in Bharathanatyam and Kuchipudi, known for his expertise in choreography, Nattuvangam, and teaching excellence. He has been awarded the titles “Natya Aachaarya” in 2017 and “Natya Kalamani” in 2018.

Smt. Anjana Krishnan

Guru Smt. Anjana Krishnan, hailing from Mangalore, began her Bharathanatyam journey at the age of 8 in 1998 under Guru Smt. Bharathi Suresh. She further honed her skills with Guru Smt. Sharadhamani Shekhar, completing her Junior & Senior Grade Exams in 2002 and 2006, respectively. From 2009 to 2012, she enhanced her abhinaya skills under Guru Shri. Balakrishna Manjeshwara. During her Post Graduation in M.S.W. at Alvas, Moodbidri, she learned Mohiniyattam from Guru Smt. Mary Bini and Kathak from Guru Shri Ashimbandhu Bhattacharyya. Additionally, with the guidance of Karnataka Kalashree, Senior Guru Shri. Ullal Mohan Kumar, she gained a deep understanding of Bharathanatyam theory. Anjana has performed extensively in cultural events across India & abroad, and joined hands with Guru Krishnan in 2015 to contribute her expertise to PadmaSri Kalamandir. A Gold Medallist in B.A. Bharathanatyam, she also excels in Mohiniyattam and Kathak. She is a recipient of  the title  “Women Achiever Award 2024” from JCI Hosur Lake City and the titles “Natya Aachaarya” in 2017 and “Natya Kalamani” in 2018.

The Tutors

Our tutors are the pillars of PSK. PadmaSri Kalamandir has so far produced 40+ tutors over the past 10 years. They extend a tremendous support by taking classes, conducting & organising events, preparing the students to perform and bring the best output from each one of them. The teaching techniques & professional approach with which they inculcate the art in the disciples and the special bond they create among the students & parents are to be mentioned. Their commitment to the art and the dedication to serve PSK, is highly valued & appreciated. Bringing up tutors like this and passing the art of Bharathanatyam to the next generation is the unique feature of PSK thereby creating a Guru – Shishya Parampara, which makes PSK, a BIG BANYAN TREE.

MUVVA SHIVA SHAMBHAVI

D/o Shri. M. Butchi Babu & Smt. Mohini A Salian M. Shiva Shambhavi is a dedicated artist who has been learning Bharathanatyam since the age of seven from Guru Shri. S. Krishnan. Shambhavi accomplished her Salangai Pooja on 18 th January, 2014 and Arangetram on 17 th May 2019. To add a feather on her cap, Shambhavi participated in National level competition held at Aurangabad (2017) and won 1 st prize in solo and group. Her active participation in numerous Bharathanatyam events and competitions gave her a good experience & confidence to receive a lot of accolades. Her remarkable performance along with PSK troupe was placed in Asia book of records during their participation in Guinness World record event organized by Hidden Idol (Dec 2017, Banglore) Apart from proving her forte in Bharathanatyam, Shiva Shambhavi was awarded ‘A’ certificate in NCC examination and camp held at Salem in the year 2019 under the authority of Ministry of Defence, Government of India. She was also awarded RAJYA PURASKAR from ‘The Bharat Scouts and Guides’ in the year 2017. She is currently pursuing her 12 th std.

MUVVA SHIVA SHAMBHAVI

NITHYASRI A

D/o Shri. K. Ayyankumar & Smt. V. Ayyammal Nithyasri, a passionate learner and sincere student, has been learning the art of Bharathanatyam under the tutelage of Guru Shri. S. Krishnan from her tender age of six. Completed Salangai Pooja on 25 th October, 2014. She has participated in several dance programmes and competitions winning many awards, prizes & appreciations. Nithyasri has been a part in the National Level Competition held at Aurangabad (2017) & Pune (2019) winning 1 st prize for solo, duet & group performances. Besides her dance career, she won 1 st prize in Bhagavat Geeta Recitation competition for reciting 50+ shlokas in school level and also won 2 nd place in district level Hockey Tournament. Currently, she is doing her 10 th Grade at Siddharth Village School, Hosur.

HARSHITHA P

D/o Shri. S. Prabu & Smt. N. Sasikala Harshitha has been learning Bharathanatyam for past 9 years at the reputed institution – PadmaSri Kalamandir, Hosur. She completed her Salangai Pooja in the event GURU KRUPAM on 26 th February, 2017. Participated in several Dance programmes & competitions, and received awards & prizes with her Gurus’ troupe. She has won 1 st prize in group, 2 nd place in solo and 3 rd in duet category at National Level Dance competition organized by Akhil Lokkala Cultural Organization at Pune during May 2019. Her remarkable performance along with PSK troupe was placed in Asia book of records during their participation in Guinness world record event organized by Hidden idol (December 2017, Bangalore). Harshitha is also pursuing training for Carnatic Vocal music for the past 4 years. She is also the Cadet of Scouts & Guides with ‘A’ certificate. Presently, she is doing her 10 th grade at Asian Christian High School, Hosur.

HARSHITHA P

KEERTHANA. S

D/o. Shri. A. Selva Raju & Smt. Vijayalakshmi S. Keerthana is the first one to learn Bharathanatyam in her bloodline. With the blessings of her Gurus, Shri. S. Krishnan & Smt. Anjana Krishnan, she has reached the height of completing 6 levels in this divine art form. She has been pursuing Bharathanatyam for the past 10 years. She performed her Salangai Pooja on 18 th January, 2014 & has participated in many prestigious Natya Sabhas at Hosur and Guruvayur. Other than dancing, Keerthana has completed the 8 grades of Hindi examination. Also, She has won 2 nd prize in district level Kho Kho tournament. Presently studying 10 th std in Parimalam Matriculation School, Hosur.
