Record set at India Book of Records & Asia Book of Records
The 17th Annual Navarathri celebration in October 2024, led by Guru Shri. S. Krishnan, achieved recognition in the India and Asia Books of Records for the maximum number of students (665) performing Bharatanatyam from a single institution in different groups.
Accomplished 41 Salangai Pooja events
PSK has successfully completed 41 Salangai Pooja events so far since 2009. About 700 disciples have performed their Salangai Pooja till date, under the able guidance of Gurus Shri. S. Krishnan & Smt. Anjana Krishnan.
Accomplished 11 Arangetram events
PSK has produced 11 batches including 64 proud students who completed their 8 Level course and accomplished Arangetram since 2019 under the guidance of Guru Shri. S. Krishnan. Apart from performing a Margam, the Nattuvangam Skill of the disciples was showcased. Varnams, Mohiniyattam, Kathak and Kuchipudi were the highlights of the remarkable events.
Tamil Nadu Government Awards
Two of our proud students Kum. A. Nithyasri & Kum. B. S. Shruthika were awarded the title “KALAI ILAMANI” from the department of Ministry of Culture, Tamil Nadu for the year 2022.
PSK’s Tutors
PSK has produced 40+ tutors over the past 10 years which includes a hierarchy. The senior tutors guide their juniors to handle the classes and teach them the nuances of understanding teaching techniques, thereby creating an inspirational atmosphere.
Workshop
PadmaSri Kalamandir offers workshops on dance items, Nattuvangam, teaching techniques, and choreography, both online and direct, enhancing skills and preserving classical dance traditions with structured learning.
Issued Souvenir
On the completion of 25 Salangai Pooja events at PSK, we presented Souvenir on 25th January 2020 on the 25th Salangai Pooja.
National Level Dance Competition
In May 2019, PSK attended the “National Cultural Meet” organized by Akhil Lokkala Cultural Organisation at Pune, with its 14 energetic disciples & won the 1st place in group category and also won prizes in Solo & Duet performances.
Guinness World Record Event
Around 50 of our disciples were trained to participate in the Guinness World Record Programme organized by Hidden Idol for the cause of farmers at SFS College, Bangalore on 31st December, 2017 was placed in Asia book of Records.
National Level Dance Competition (2017)
During May 2017, 12 dedicated disciples of PSK bagged 1st prize in group category and also won accolades in Solo & Duet performances, in the “National Cultural Meet” organized by Akhil Lokkala Cultural Organisation at Aurangabad.
Tanjore Big Temple (2011) & UAE (2014)
Guru Smt. Anjana Krishnan had been a part of the glorious history in the 1000th year celebration of Tanjai Periya Kovil (2011) and was an embassy for Alva’s College in the cultural event “Vishwa Nudisiri Virasath”, presented at Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain (2014).
Shiva Tandava Karanas at a stretch & Titles
Guru Shri. S. Krishnan had performed the 108 Karanas (which is an intricate form of Shiva Tandavam), during Shivaratri programme “Mahakumbeshwara” at Neyveli in 2004. He was affectionately called “Nadana Puyal” at Neyveli & “Madipakam Dhananjayan” during his performance in Chennai.
